Default 17cc gas in a Sr. Telemaster

Will a 17cc swinging a 16x8 prop pull a 95" telemaster with any authority? The engine is a converted ryobi. Thanks

The Telemaster flies about the same no matter which engine is on it.

I have a Zenoah G20 in mine and it is a great combination. It does not quite have unlimited vertical.

from the engines I've converted and have in my possession I don't believe Ryobi made a 17cc, some of the old ones were 26cc then most of the known engines are 31cc and now they are the same as a Homelite 30cc. Echo/Koritz made a 12, 13, and 16cc, I believe Homelite had a 16cc in their hedge trimmers, Weedeater/Poulan made a 18cc in their smallest weedeater, and there's a bunch more close to 20cc.

Years ago my dad flew a sr telemaster on a .19 enya. He made an extension out of a broom stick to mount the motor on out about 18 or 20 in out in front of the firewall. Flew very scale like..

I think 8 pitch is too much. Try to stick with a 6 pitch and adjust diameter sccordingly. The more diameter the better for a plane of this type.

Would a Zenoah G23 do better on this airplane? It will cost more but I know that the zenoah is hard to beat. thanks

The G23 might be a bit too much engine for your model and I would suggest you stick with the 17cc.
