how do you make the perfect RC body
Hey guys, ive painted 2 of my own bodies for my rc10t3. The paint it self looks good, but i cant get that homemade look out of it. Ive been looking around at all these custom bodies and they have these nice clean cuts and the look good enough to have come from a factory. So what id like to know is, are there tools that help with the cleaner cuts? Are there better technics that i could follow? Any suggestions will be helpful.

the really good guys paint the shell before they trim it. they don't use scissors they use a hobby knife (xacto) and score the cut then snap it off.
i have tried this method and it drove me crazy so i still use scissors, and i always fit the body first, then paint. mine always have that "homemade" look too.
i'll use a dremel to make the wheel arches nice after i cut them out with scissors.

RE: how do you make the perfect RC body
Patience is the number one key.I do mine spray can/masking tape BUT there is stilla lot of method to my madness
Patience
Mark and measure lines on the OUTSIDE first with a sharpie (outer overspray cover)
Use varying masking tape for varying levels of detail needed
Spray light even coats, darker colors first, finishing with the lightest to avoid the dreaded "color shadow"
Remember, when painting the inside all of your operations will be reversed
Let paint dry between each coat you apply
Apply enough coats to cover surely but not over do it
If you need to cut masking tape, score it lightly or body will break on heavy-handed score marks in a crash
To cut a body with xacto knife, score it lightly and keep goin over it,
ANDFINALLY, remember, patience and meticulous is the way to go!!!!
