HELP NEEDED, panzer 4 painting
hey guys, im looking for advice and help. i just repainted my panzer 4 primer grey. i am wondering what colors you guys think should be added the which areas and if i should stick with the grey or do some camo aswell. id like to keep the primer grey color as i do like it. just looking for some info on what to do next. i made the muffler look rusted already and painted the handles of the tools black. what next? thanks

RE: HELP NEEDED, panzer 4 painting
for the tip of the barral, paint the 1'2 inch black, will add realism like a real tank, second the grey doesn't look good with camo, it looks better with the the dirt if your trying to conceal the tank, do the wheels and the bottom half of the hull then put black around the exhaust ports to look real

The pioneer tool handles are wood and shouldn't be black. Try a darker/dirty wood color. The heads of the sledge, axe, OK and the pry bar. Tow cables with a rust over Grimey Black. Check Panzer Colors I or Pz IV in Action....both from Squadron Signal for some camo ideas..
Don't know why everyone wants to paint the muzzle of the gun tube black...not realistic at all. Even the inside of a muzzle brake will be more grey than anything else from cordite, if not swabbed out with a bore brush and cleaned with solvent.. Open muzzle will be missing a bit of paint after weeks of firing but not black....unless your firing tons of black powder or Unique.

Hey Builder,
Tear small bits of sponge into smaller bits. Use burnt umber to simulate paint chips. Then use pencil to simulate worn metal.

Kill rings were not universally used. The use depended a lot on the unit commander and in some cases denoted the unit. Tigers used the rings more than any other tank. Don't see many 37m, 50mm or 75mm gun tubes with kill rings.
