RE: Wheel bearings..... worth the cost?
Are you a Pro Racer?
If not, don't worry about it. Not for wheel bearings and drive shaft bearings.
Just make sure you maintain them and replace them periodically. Bearings are one of those 'consumables' that cars go through on a consistant basis.
As far as engines and clutches go, yes, IMO it's worth replacing cheap bearings with the high end ones. But still....got'ta maintain them and replace them periodically.
As far as the ads you're seeing....got'ta find some way to pay that girl for holding a bearing between her thumb and forefinger and facially overly-expressing the "Oooohhhhhhhh"....
But that's a topic for another thread, LOL...which has already been started...

I keep seeing ads for wheel bearings for RCs. Are they worth the cost to upgrade?

much more resistant to contamination which in turn makes them last longer.
As for those ceramic high priced bearings i dont really see them being nessary unless your into competition / high end racing and needing every .oz of power from your engine.

YES bearing are a worth while upgrade. A while back I did a build thread on a Tamiya Madbull here on the forums. I built it 100% stock with the stock bushing then tested it. Added bearing and tested again then continued with a few other mods.
Long story short is run time, speed and handling will all improve over stock bushing. Today bearing are a cheap upgrade and can be bought on Ebay for almost nothing. What type of car are we talking about?

if you want the best performance out of your vehicle... yes. If you just like to bash around and break parts, id say no.
cutting down on drivetrain/rolling resistence helps in having a smoother, better performing car/truck.

If your vehicle has metal or plastic bushings, then yeah the bearings are a good upgrade to free up the drivetrain. If they already have ball bearings, replace them only when necessary. Avid RC (I think) has reasonable priced bearings.

Bearings make a bigger difference than you think. It will roll much smoother. Just think about how much friction a bushing has to run with since its just metal on metal.

Ahhh....didn 't realize you may have meant replacing bushings with bearings. I've never dealt with cars that feature bushings instead of bearings.
If that's the case then YES replace bushings with bearings, but you won't need to use ceramic bearings throughout the entire car.

Idunno, better bearings are a good upgrade for a basher too. While the lessened rolling resistance and better precision may not be too important, high quality racing bearings are often tougher as well, and tougher bearings will last longer.

bushings to bearings is a must like said.
when going from standard bearings to better ones smoother rolling smoother power
