Default DA-50 with 24x8 prop

DA-50 manual says it can take 24x8. However, I couldn't find posts about using this combination.

Anyone tried this combination ?

You probably meant a Menz 24x8, not a 24 x 3.

The 24" props are best left to the DA-60's.
A DA-50r runs best on a 22" and some cases a 23"

Spool up of the eng will really suck on a 24", it's slightly noticeable with some 23".

23x8 is the bench mark around here for a DA-50.

Yes, obviously I meant 24x8 as you mentioned. Thanks for correcting me.

Do you think 22x8 will provide better pull out of a hover? I am using it on an EF YAK which is slightly bigger than an average 50cc frame.

If you mean this one.....

Wingspan: 88 inches
Length: 86 inches
Wing Area: 1450 sq. in.
Weight: 16.5-18.5 lbs
Power: 50cc-60cc Gas

.....and you do your best to keep it UNDER 18 lbs, then yes. Around 18 lbs the 23" would do better.

I have two different models, one at 16.5 lbs (w/Vess 22x8), another at 17.5 lbs (w/Xoar 23x8). The first one pulls out of a hover very briskly, the heavier one less so. My friend has a Yak at 19 lbs (w/Bolly 23x8) and pull out's are very slow, but still doable.

If your model has the clearance to swing a 23" prop, try a few until you find one YOU feel does the job best.
I like Xoar & Vess best, my friend likes Bolly. Maybe some of your flying buddies might let you try theirs until you find one you like best?
