Man I hate it when that happens
I have had my brushless 8ight 2.0 in pieces on a table for the last week or so and I just got it all back together. it had rained earlier today but I took it out for a run since the road was dry enough. I though I could avoid the puddles but I managed to slide into a deep puddle which covered the car in water[:@] about 2 seconds later see a large puff of smake and flames coming from under the body. I get the body off and pull the battery wires which pulled the sockets out of the mamba monster esc. Its cooked.[] But the battery thankfully is still good. I have a MMM in my MBX5T as well so I plugged it into the other the other controler and it does work. so now I need to find another ESC for my 8ight[:@]

although they are not suppose to be water proof that is just plain cheap it would burst into flames, piece of crap.
most ive ever had happen was the esc went dead, then after a couple days drying out it was fine again, so far so good on my $20 brushless esc's ive got them both wet and snowy without so much as a glitch.

RE: Man I hate it when that happens
Man I can relate totally [&:]
I have a gravel road behind my house and it has potholes that hold water for a while after a rain.
When I got my used brushless T4 the first thing I did was took it out and was playing with it on the blacktop driveway. Wouldnt you know it I ran it right across into the gravel and it splashed right into a puddle [:@] The ESC quit working, and by some stroke of luck it was only because the ESC's switch got wet. I hot wired it and its good now.
Then the other day after I got my Jammin X1 CRT converted I was playing with it. I was on the gravel and ran right into a puddle once again. Even though the body hugs it tight, it still got some water on the ESC. I drove it around another minute or so after and it was fine. So I recharged the batteries, and took it to the rock quary. Got everything ready and turned it on and no beeps. I was not happy to say the least. So i took it apart on the spot, dried everything best I could, reassembled it and it was fine. Apparently it got just enough water in to cause an issue somewhere. However once I dried it, it ran flawlessly for 50 minutes or so until i was done, and so a couple days later I waterproofed it.
I have found that I cant seem to avoid puddles when they are around, so im just going to waterproof everything and then it wont be a big deal... I cant say I have ever had one catch on fire though. lol

doesn't traxxas claim that the emaxx and revos are water proof? I know some of them come with the mamba systems. But them again other don't so maybe those are the ones that are water proof. either way I wil stay away from water from now on!
