Default Good Quality ARF Manufacturers?

Hi everybody,

I'm from Germany, and I thought about buying an Big ARF/ARC Plane (from about 90'' to 100'')in the US (like Cap23X, Extra, Staudacher, SU 31).

I found the homepage of Giantscaleplanes.com and I was really positively surprised about the nice planes they have and the very good prices compared to the prices in Germany here! But I found a thread, where people are not really recommending the planes from this manufacturer.

So my question is: What manufacturers can you really recommend for me? It should be good designed ARC / ARF planes which also get exported to Germany and enjoy a good repetition within the R/C scene in the US!

I would be happy if somebody could help me find the 'right' one!

Thanks in advice!

Marc

OK, thanks, that makes sence to me!

How about if a friend of mine that is living in the US is buying it for me and then shipps it privately for me to Germany?!?

I also have a friend that has an RC store and he is importing Hangar 9 Airplanes. Could he import it cheaper?

does not matter

the problem is the size of the box it is out of normal range so all shippers will charge huge amounts on shipping

private or not customs WILL charge you no matter what you buy
however if you can prove you payed local taxes there
you dont have to pay them here

if your friend imports them ask him
but i asume he gets all shipped by boat

Look no further than the Krill-Cz Models 100" Staudacher S300 Champion. Outstanding quality ARTF, a friend has one fitted with a ZDZ80B, fantastic flying machine. Not sure if there is a German importer, the UK one is at www.moki.co.uk
Best Regards

Sandor: Ok, I see, its not that easy as I though ti would be! Anyhow, I will have to check the costs, and then decide!

But can you tell me about the quality of the GSP-ARF planes? Do you have any experience?

well my plane fell to it's death. I had a 1.08 2cy in it and 2 batteries, and a 20oz fuel tnk. I guess all that weight is too much as it wouldn't glide at all. The engine died after only 3 minutes of flight. And I tried to coax it in, but it wasn't having it. I let it drop vertically to ain pleanty of speed, but when I pulled up it just wouldn't slow down at all. I now have a 2pc wing, missing landing gear, and no firewall at all, and 1/2 the side of the fuse missing. I'm not going to repair... It must have been to heavy thats the only reason I can see why it wouldn't glide for me.

Aeroworks, Extreme flight, or Hangar 9 would be good places to look.
