Airworld hawk flap hinge help
Hi guys, looking for some help with the installation of the 3 flap hinges on the Airworld hawk, my first thoughts are to install them at 90 degrees of the wing edge and this apears to be the way in various pictures from the angle taken, but on the outer wing skin there are 3 long faint scribes at approx 85ish degrees is this the hinge mounting line??? instructions are a little weak and in German
Any help is much appreciated

RE: Airworld hawk flap hinge help
The flap hinges should be mounted on the scribed lines which makes them, and the fairings, parallel to the a/c c/l.
The fairings are not particularly scale having no "knuckles" and I am prepared to make patterns for scale ones if someone knows how to make the fiberglass moldings from the new scale patterns.
Regards,
David.

How many of you guys have replaced the live hinging on the ailerons with more scale hinge mechanics? I am not going to leave the live hinging on mine.....does not belong on a model of that caliber IMO.

RE: Airworld hawk flap hinge help
I looked at Dave Gladwins Airworld Hawk recently as he removed the active hinging in favour of a scale hinge and it sold me so thats what I'm doing on mine, as well as the thin flap addition onto the leading edge of the main flap.

Thanks guys, it makes sense, the other thing that threw me off and this might have something to do with the geometry is the servo mount is mounted pretty much 90 deg to the edge of the wing.
One other thing, there is a scribed line for the aileron but appearsto be way offI'm assuming thecontrol rod needsto be 90 deg to the hinge line?? again the servo mount is dictating this.
