Painting a gas prop
I want to paint a 3-blade prop for a DLE30 going on a warbird. The only paint I can find that matches the color I want is Rustoleum Textured. I didn't know if this question belonged in the scale forum or engine; but here goes.
Does anyone know if painting a prop with textured paint will help or hurt or have no effect on performance. The Rustoleum Textured has a feeling similar to 150-200 grit sandpaper I think.

Why not take a sample to local hardware store and have them match in latex? I for one would vote hurt on the textured paint. All that serfs e area can't be good.

splais, I agree you shouldn't use the textured paint. I have used auto lacquer because the gasoline will take off enamal paint. Hard to find auto lacquer in flat colors other than flat black. On thing I have done with nylon, carbon fiber etc (not wood) is use cloth dye, you can get it at Wallmart and comes in many colors. I died an ASP prop with back die. Biggest problem was finding a pot big enough so the prop would fit in to boil the water.
What prop are you using, what color do you want and what plane is it going on?
