Need help choosing power set up
Hello all,
First- If there is a better place to put this thread please let me know.
I'm finishing up a 42" scratch built Wittman W10 Tailwind. I'm switching to electric after years of nitro so I'm pretty unfamiliar with motor/esc and battery sizing.
I'm looking to get some advice on motor/esc/prop and battery sizing. I'll be getting most everything from hobbyking or hobbypartz.
Would someone mind giving me their opinion on how I should power this thing?
Span is 42"
Weight (as you see it -no electronics)- 13 oz
Just looking for a good sport flying setup with decent (6-8 min) flight time.
Thanks

RE: Need help choosing power set up
I would say by the time you get the six servos, control rods, battery, motor mount/prop, and ESC it should weight around 26 ounces.
I would try a 400 size 1150kv motor , 25 amp ESC, 9X5E prop and a 11.1 volt 3-cell 1500mah or 1800mah/ 25c or 30c lipo battery.
I would recommend buying from Headsup RC or Value Hobby rather than your noted choices but that's up to you.
