Buy New or Upgrade?
Hello there I bought a Traxxas Stampede a few years ago, the cheapest one I could find: 2WD Brushed. $170 it was, back then. I kinda just put it on the shelf for a few years, and I recently took it back out and I'm having some fun with it. However, it doesn't have very high torque for an MT, at only 12T and ~3600kv. I know traxxas are known to be prone to breaking, and considering this was the cheapest MT I'm quite sure it doesn't have the greatest stock parts.
Now my question is: Should I buy a new truck, i.e. HPI Savage XS Flux, or upgrade the **** out of the car I have? I'm not trying to compare HPI and Traxxas, don't try to convince me to buy a different car like an E-Maxx I've done my research and if I buy, I'm set on the Savage. I'm just not sure I want to buy when I have a working MT that I can upgrade.
My main problem with upgrading is just that once I start upgrading, I won't stop. I already have a Motor/ESC set in mind, which would grant higher torque and speed, and I want a stronger chassis, and I'm sure that with all the bashing I'll be doing I'll need to replace tons of little plastic pieces, optimistically with aluminum.
My main problem with buying a new car is just that: do I really need another car? Can I just upgrade my Stampede to the point where it's 5% stock and have it be as good as or better than the Savage?
I appreciate any responses, as long as they're related to the question at hand.

Hello Kekker, and welcome to RCU!
From reading your post id say buy the new savage. For what you want, the flux will deliver.
The stampede while inexpensive is a rugged and tough basher. Id hang on to it as a go to truck
when you have noobs over that want to "try it out".
