My Axial Wraith Build
Just a list of current upgrades on my Axial Wraith. Hopefully this will be helpful to those trying to decided what to do first. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try my best to answer them.
1. 100% stock Axial Wraith Poison Spyder- $400
2. Axial AE-3 ESC- $130 (really like this ESC because it's waterproof and fully programmable via Castle Link)
3. GForce 2200kv 4 pole brushless motor- $40 (great little motors for the price, similar speed to stock but much more torque)
4. Wraith body panels- $25 (took them and painted them with spray-on bedliner, stock Poison Spyder body panels had fenders which get in the way)
5. Robinson Racing 20t pinion- $4 (stock one cracked into pieces)
6. JConcpets RocX tires premounted- $70 (decent tires but just didn't like the look)
7. RC4WD 2.2" Mudslingers- $55 (really really good tires once you cut the foams, just not quite as tall as stock)
8. Venom anodized aluminum shocks- $10 (don't think they make them anymore, stock ones were fine I just wanted a little bling)
9. Hot Racing aluminum front steering linkage- $15 (stock one simply flexes too much, just keep in mind that this will make things harder on your servo)
10. Savox 1231SG servo- $70 (really really nice servo, only issue is that it needs either a glitch buster or external BEC to help power it, at least on my setup)
11. Hot Racing steel rear driveshaft- $18 (almost identical to MIPs and 1/2 the price, stock plastic shafts are fine until you go brushless in my experience)
12. Zippy 2200mah 2s (x3)- $8 each (decent little batteries, get around 30 minutes of runtime for each)
13. Venom 2100mah 3s (x2)- $20 each (good batteries for popping wheelies, have a warranty too)
And here are some pics. These are all of the upgrades I can think that are on it currently. Feel free to ask me if I would recommend something, but let me tell you, if it's not on this list, I've found that it's really not "needed." Enjoy the pictures. Hope this helps someone
