Blowing the dust off an 05 Traxxas T-maxx, Need help!
Hey everyone I'm new to the whole Rc-forums thing and this is my first post!
Well I've gotten out my T-Maxx and If i remember right I bought around 05-06 and Have put alot of hours on it up until a few years ago. It's been in the attic of my garage for 2-3 years atleast without being started, and I was just wondering what are the main spots I'm going to have to clean/replace etc. basically I'm trying to get it up and running again and have been out of the game for a while so I'm looking for a push in the right direction!
~Nick
There was also fuel left in the tank so I can only imagine there was fuel still left in the motor, Is this cleanable? or I guess will it even need cleaning? Can the Gas tank and fuel lines be re used or should I just go ahead and replace those right off the bat? It seems this T-maxx is kind of a dinosaur compared to whats out now hah. Thanks any help would be appreciated!

Hello Deadication, Welcome to RCU !
If it was my truck id rinse the tank out clean and buy new fuel line...to eliminate any possibility of dried out and cracked lines.
As for the engine, if it did sit with fuel inside it, the fuel may have sat and gummed up. I bought a used 2.5 maxx that wouldn't even spin over.
I thought it was sized up so I opened it up and found where the fuel had totally gunked the cylinder bore and crank bearing.
After cleaning it out with old fuel (degreasing) and putting it back together it ran like a champ.
If your engine spins ok you may be good to go.
Good luck and keep us posted.
