Default How to rebuild torn out landing gear?

My main gear was partially torn out of my Tiger Trainer 40 during a landing. I sure could use some help in deciding the best way to rebuild and reinforce the bottom of the fuselage.

Default How to rebuild torn out landing gear?

Reinforce the landing gear plate with triangle stock from inside of the fuselage, and reinstall landing gear with 1/4 x 20 nylon bolts, that way next time you make a hard landing you will just shear your bolts, install new ones, and keep flying. Don't use wheel pants with this method, as wheel pants will bust holes in your covering when landing gear comes off. Daz...

The above recommendation works. I have build a box out of hardwood square stock. THen glue the box into the plane and brace. I then screw the plywood plate into the box. This has worked on two applications where the gear came out.
