Sakura xi sport($100)this holds the record on our local track and thats against xrays ae tourers 4x the cost.
Skyrc toro ts120 esc it includes program box turbo dynamic timing software ($85)and a ares 3.5t 9100kv motor ($50)gt2b flysky radio rx/tx lipo-charger($35)around $270

These are at rcmart.com you can veiw them there this would not include batt and charger for car and you may need to ask about shipping but you could take this setup to the podium anywhere against anyone

its quite cheap considering the xray t4s like $600 for chasis alone no elecs and still beat it in a race.with this motor on 2s lipo youre looking at around 60-80mph depending on gearing-or get a 5.5t ares and run 3s too over 100mph(yeeah booyee)thats just me man im full on 3s lipo lol.

this would be great all round basher on road although been belt drive may have to watchout for stoney areas but they are far more efficient than shaft for speed and handling

all the upgrades are real cheap too not that it needs any.try some drifting aswell maybe and get some tyres.

Yep its got instructions and program box which is a volt and rev meter pictured here, caps go on the same connectors as battery wires.

theres also a bluetooth module you can get for it so you can program with an android or iphone but the program box does the same thing too.

For less high powered systems like the 60amp combos most come soldered, although its possible to get those speeds its alot harder on the elecs to do so,whethers the 120 amp setups are mostly all in need of been soldered up.
speed passion reventon 1.1 pro probably the best available $160 down from $290
there are others but They need soldering I only source from these guys because ive tested there stuff and it only takes a week to wait in the maill
ebay and key word beeman x10 v.3($130 free shipped ww)120amp esc-6.5t turbo function etc.etc.
just needs the motor wires soldered and goes awesome heres mine ive had it for about 4mnths in a losi xxx-s I dont know how long it might take but from hong kong it took a week to get here to new zealand not sure about america.

Hey next edition seems like you have done the xi sport justice. Im brand new to the hobby and after some research and recommendations actually picked up one myself ( although i feel hoodwink seeing how i bought mine from rc mart and basically paid double). The kit i ordered came with some electronics but they seem pretty dated which i am not to thrilled about. Was wondering if you can give some descent suggestions for basically everything from remote, esc, motor, battery , servo etc and where to source them from seeing how i did a crappy job the first time.

Lucianpoppy, you have to watch the dates on threads you pull up. For example this one is a year old and next edition hasnt been on here in a year.

Which combo did you get? Can you link it. If its the one I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

I saw that combo, the motor should be smokin fast. Specs on the servo are decent too. The rx tx combo is compatible with flysky (probably a rebranded flysky) which is what a lot of guys are using these days. The tx doesnt have a lot of bells and whistles but it should work just fine.

Where can I go to learn about motors ,ESC and the other hobby related electronics. Want to know what to be looking for in regards to these items , maybe something that gives me a benchmark.
