there were three categories.
Scale - 1st prize 6000/- Cash went to Ahmed Nasser (UAE) Sukhoi 35 - twin P120's
Sport - 1st Prize 3000/- Cash went to Sh. Jaber Al Thani (Qatar)Kangaroo - Single P120
Ducted Fan 1st Prize 1000/- Cash went to Hamdan (UAE) Aermachhi - OS 91 Ducted fan.

Yeah they are in UAE Dirhams.
which as ehab said around 1630 US$, that was only the first prize. I beleive Jet Masters has a first prize of 2000 US$, atleast thats what i heard. correct me if i am wrong.
As a matter of fact, the prizes came from one RC JET entusiast and one of our ace pilots Mr. Salah Al Gaz who generously donated 8K USD worth of prizes and gifts etc.etc., which is quite good and its all just to promote the hobby in this part of the world.
This was the first ever event of its kind here and we didnt have any sponsors. But the best part is that we met a lot of lovely people here and a good fliers from around the world. Lots of stufff to learn and lots of new freinds. Hopefully the next jets over uae will be bigger and better with the first prize to touch at least 10K hopefully !
or a jet cat P 120 
lets hope for this and see what comes up next.
Thanks for all the guys who helped and volunteered and came all the way to make it a big big success. Especially to the spectators who drove almost 100 kms to the venue from different parts of the UAE to visit the event.
