T Maxx metal transmission gears

T Maxx metal transmission gears
I have an old T Maxx that originally had the Pro .15, I swapped a new 3.3 in this winter. The original plastic trans gears lasted for about a quart of fuel. I've been mostly away from the car/truck scene for quite a while so I'm not really up on it. I'm looking for a metal gear conversion but still maintain reverse. A searched a bit and everything I was coming up with did away with reverse when converting to metal. Does anyone know of a metal gear kit for the original T Maxx that keeps reverse or do I have no choice? Thanks in advance!

Robinson racing used to offer metal gears for the black TMaxx transmission. They were the intermediate gears, I don't think they ever offered the gears on the output shaft unless you converted to forward only. These gears have long been discontinued and weren't as popular as the cheaper forward only conversion so they're going to be really hard to find.
The intermediate and output gears are the weakest in the black TMaxx trans. They could've just been old, replace all the intermediate and output gears with new ones and check all the trans bearings. Unless there's some other issue new gears should hold up to the 3.3 just fine. The input and 2 speed gears rarely go even with a big block. OTB made metal input and 2 speed gears, possibly the rest of the trans gears too I'm not sure. But all OTB gears were produced in very limited numbers and are highly sought after so they go for big bucks.

Yeah as above, they may have just been old, my transmission has never been apart, years of use with a 2.5r and nearly a year of 3.3 without issue, standard replacement should be OK. Pop new bearings in if you can, worn bearings on my Savage caused me to chew a gear up.
