7.5 Tunnel Hull Build Help
Hi Everyone,
New to Tunnels Hulls & was wanting some good advice. I'm fixing a tunnel hull (in the pictures) & from what i'm told a fairly modified 7.5 K&B engine modified by westworth (in pictures).
Engine is missing a needle valve im sure? if so would the new style be the best?
I'm wanting to get this finished an done right... I need help with the following at the moment:
-Whats the hull make if anyone knows? It was bright yellow & had total control hobbies on it, think it was from San Diego.
-What servos to use?
-Radio i was thinking of getting this - https://hobbyking.com/en_us/mt-s.html Any recommendation would be great!
-Need a tunepipe & Have seen this site - http://joshfulton.tripod.com/products4.htm Whats better to get? or are there better options (i'd like to race it at some point.
-Best run in gas? (motor is new) & best gas after run in
-Prop to use? & where to get one?
After i finish the paint, sure ill have many other questions. If i should start a new thread let me know and i will.

The hull looks like a Dumas Hot Shot .45.
That carb shouldn't need a remote needle valve as it should have a high-speed needle on the side not shown. I never cared much for that carb as there should be a tiny screw that holds the brass disc in place which is the low-speed needle although it doesn't look like one. Those screws fall out easily. You have to watch your throttle settings on the carb also as the servo throw may need to be limited as I've seen the barrels break from too much throw.

Radio systems don't matter much anymore as now they're all wired the same way and use what's now a universal connector. I use Hi-tec HS-645 MG servo's for steering everything from .21 mono's to my gas boats.
I don't know where you're at as I've got a guy in the Chicago area that's a K&B dealer among other things that can help you with everything you'd need to get the boat going, Gary Preusse at 630-27-2451. He's old-school so he doesn't use the Internet but a call to him it's always worth it. Tell him what you have and he'll set you up.
As far as the tuned pipe goes, I'd check to see if they have any Irwin pipes in stock. Jim got out of the business years ago and died a few years back. Bob Kensill might be making them now.
The radio system will be fine.
