Bat-Safe- Real or ?
At the Toledo Show April 2016 a group was taking pre-orders on what looked like a great idea. A fire proof box that you place your lipo batteries in while charging so that if the worst happened it would contain the fire and filter the smoke. I plunked down my $40.00 and added my name to the list of buyers. At $40.00 shipped it is a great deal; if it works and I get it. They said it would arrive in July. Here it is December and no Bat-Safe yet. They are advertising.
Has anyone in the US got one yet? I'm getting that sinking feeling that I've been scammed and I'm out my $40.00.
If you read this Bat-Safe, if you used my $40.00 to try to develop and safe product and failed I'm not that put out. However if you took your fellow R/Cer's money in a scam and used it to buy beer at the local watering hole shame on you.
Anyone else buy a Bat-safe at Toledo?

Looks like they are for sale now.

Do you have a receipt? Did you use a credit card or paypal?
If you want a safety box for lipos you can go to a local gun show and by a military ammo can. They are not expensive and come in different sizes. Drill a few small holes in the lid and that's it.

Unfortunately I place a lot (TOO much) trust in my fellow modelers at times, I paid cash and didn't get a receipt.
Yeah the ammo box will/may contain the flames , however the Bat-safe is also designed to filter the smoke so that the gasses emitted is mostly steam.

Well they show a picture full of boxes so who knows. Hope you get it.

Looks to me like an overpriced ammo can with a fire resistant filter mat in the lid.
Good luck.

Yes I've E-mailed. They have had several shipping dates that have come and gone with no delivery. Why I didn't ask for a receipt? You got me, I just didn't use my head. Could it be that they can't read by writing? You bet, I've got terrible penmanship. To tell you the truth even if they in some way don't figure that I've paid for a bat-safe, if they are shipping I would still purchase a few.
Have had two close friends that have nearly torched themselves and their property. Oops wait a minute, they both did lose property, and one received burns on his hands. Yes a ammo can may contain the flames but the soot will still cost a good bit to clean. I'd bet a dollar against a donut that they would've loved to be using some sort of containment.
My purpose in opening this thread is not to bad mouth Bat-safe or the folks that are trying to bring it to market. Just the opposite, I am enthusiastic to get and use the product. However after several promises that delivery is next month and next month comes and goes with no product showing up at my door step, I'm a little skeptical.
Thanks for commenting.
