Default Matney's Napier Revisited

The version with the new tail was flown on Saturday.

The model took a small amount of up elevator to take off and flew great.

The attachment below shows the upgraded horizontal and vertical stabilizer surfaces.

Default Matney's Napier Revisited

During a recent race in Phoenix my Napier got a few more scars of courage. Sorry Dan.

One of the nice things about a conventional kitted model is that they can be fixed.

The following pictures shows the progress on the repairs.

Default Matney's Napier Revisited

Despite my best efforts to destroy it, the model will live another day to race again.

Glad to see that she will race again and this thread is alive. I love the sleek look of these models.
I have just finished building a P47 kit and the Napier is next. Will have a small break from building but the next time we get some bad weather I will dust her off and get stuck into it.

cheers,

Rick

NO need to be sorry. Stuff Happens! Mine is under re-construction as well. Mine is a full composite model and I am employing the same techniques. They too can be repaired. I replaced the rudder with a wood version. And I replaced the stabs with new. Eddie Jump and I had a similar landing mishap a few years back and that airplane flew again as well. Everything is fixable within reason.

Glad to see it back together and ready again.
