So for laughs I fitted my Castle SCT setup to this and ran it around the house. Holy crap! A 4 pole brushless on two cells is quick, I think it is a 3800Kv, would have to check though. Will have to look into a second one of these, I need one to run on crazy power!! Still, this one is on the shelf, but at least it could run if it wanted to now.

Oh yeah, and on this sort of power the whole "heavy, slow, blah blah" is completely irrelevant. On the carpet it is almost instant acceleration with stock tires and gearing.

Hello! I am new!
While I was price checking my TB-01, I came across this site!
So I got what you guys been looking for in years! I originally purchased the car last summer in ebay Canada for $100. It was sold to me with all the carbon upgrades (except the ESC, motor, receiver, and servo ) and it was in mint condition.
It got the aluminum motor mount, long arm suspension kit, front and back stabilizer, carbon shaft, and carbon chassis. My plan was to display it with the BMW M3 body, but I didn't have the time to finish the body, so it was sitting in the shelf and collecting dust!
I kind of want to play with it too, but I am scared that it might scratch and depreciate its value! It came from Ferrari Enzo kit, but I sold the body + the box a long time ago.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures! ^^

I say run it and have fun with it.. they are not investment.. ha ha! The value depreciated the moment it was built (no longer New In Box), so I say go for it.. !!
Looks like it is in very good condition.. !!

Nah, I am more of a collector than a regular hobbyist that treat it as a toy. Maybe one day, it will have the same value as the Porsche 959
Besides, it's like 4mm off the ground with all the electronics and battery, it will definitely scratch!!!!
The chassis is similar to TB Evolution, or TB Evolution Black Edition, but it is a bit heavier...

Yes I am going to paint it, but I will probably hire a professional to do the stickers. As I have a rare set of Miku stickers, other than the original stock Z4 set.
AND YES, I am a Miku fan!
sorry for the fussy pic, as I took them in a hurry

As for controls, I have the Spektrum Dx6 and Dx4c for the TB-01
The best part is they are like mint condition and I didn't even use them for more than an hour.
Hell, I am stupid for buying them And to whoever is going to inherit my stuffs when I die, they will be very happy about it!

Anyone still into the TB-01 ? Got mine out today and put a 3800kv castle motor in it, seems to be pretty quick! (could only try it in the house though, ran out of space before even deciding on which direction to go).
I hope to run it in the snow this weekend, but need to find where I put my chassis cover first. Also the increased power amplifies the front dogbone issue, they tend to jam up the steering, you have to go back and forth to make it unlock.. With the brushless motor it will break stuff I think, so I ordered universals for the front.
If I manage to make a vid I'll post it up, but was wondering if there was still some life in this old thread!

I love my TB01, thinking hard about getting a second to play with so my shelf queen can stay where she is. Though I just picked up a Grasshopper, Egress ad TT02B-MS, so it might be on the lower priority for a bit lol.

Hey everybody. I'am Michael from Germany and i hope you can help me. I Build a TB01 in Rally spec Original from the Lancer Evo 7 manual. But the car is not sitting in a good ride high. The Problem is that the Chassis is in Front higher then the rear. I Build everything from the manual. Did somebody know what the problem is? I would to get a absolutly Original build TB01.
thank you very much....

I don't think you did anything wrong. I remember when I built mine, the front was higher than the rear as well.
Might just have to get better shocks to adjust the ride-height.. !
Good luck!

Hello Lunchboxer.
I thank you so much for your answer. I read this whole treat about the TB01 and i know that you know a lot about that Chassis. But are you sure? The Different Ride hight between the Front and the rear are 3mm. I take Position B12 (in the Original Lancer Evo VII) out of the rear damper and now the car is sitting evenly. But i cannot belive that Tamiya Build a car which is so different in the Ride hight. I would build a absolutly Original Tamiya TB01 Lancer EVO VI vintage car. But in the whole www there is no Original manual for this Lancer Evo VI. But what should i do? Drove with different ride hight?
Thank you very much for your answer.
.....Another question: i searching for a original Silver motor cooling shield. Somebody know where i can get one?

Sounds good! I don't have an answer as it has been years since I built mine.. but by taking out the B12, looks like the shocks can be extended a little bit more and that raised the ride height.. maybe it was a mistake on the manual to begin with!
But anyway, glad that it worked out for you!!
