Default How to set up a pan/tilt fpv system

My brother is getting into fpv pan/tilt but he doesn't know how to set up the pan/tilt camera mount, we have a head tracker for the goggles, but don't know if we need a separate receiver for the camera end.
Or do we hook it up to the aircraft's receiver?

Thanks

Don't know if this is important, but the remote we are using is a DSM2 compatible Orange RX

Pan and tilt feature usually uses CH7 and CH8 signal between FPV goggle and R/C receiver both link via trainer port behind the radio control, you can use existing radio receiver that control the plane as long you have enough slot to connect 2x channel. On the radio receiver port CH7 control "pan" servo and CH8 control "tilt" servo or vice versa depending how it was configured on the Fatshark/Boscam/Skyzone/Walkera goggle.

Here are some video sample of my FPV planes with pan-tilt or just pan only:

So can any googles do pan/tilt if you have a motion sensor?

also, what is a trainer port?

Only certain high end googles have motion "gyro" that controls pan-tilt but for those goggle that doesn't have any can buy add-on external gyro sensor.

Trainer port always exist on any R/C grade radio. If you wanted to learn how to fly R/C on computer simulator you always hook computer USB to radio controller back end port to communicate and control the simulator. That's connection part is the "trainer port". Instead connecting to computer the port can be connected to fpv video goggle that have gyro sensor to send CH7/CH8 signal from radio controller to radio receiver then to servo that moves the camera.

Can I use channels 5/6? Or does it have to be CH7/8?
