Is it just me...
...or what?
I recently ordered a Ringmaster kit and several other items that were suggested on the web page. I eventually found that I had to open 3 of the packs of wheel-retaining collars to get ONE set of four that had the same sized axle holes and 4 set screws that were the same and one allen wrench that would fit them all. I looked at the other two un-opened packs and noticed that they were either missing parts or had the wrong set screws too. Also, the suggested fuel tank didn't even come close to fitting. The kit was OK, but certainly nothing to write home about, either.
Is it just me, or have other folks here noticed a lack of QC in Brodak's products? Personally, I hope that this was just a fluke, but I did see on another thread that their Palmer Hurricane kit has a mis-sized rib in it and that the issue was still present in the kits 2 years after it was reported to Brodak and acknowledged.
I was planning on ordering one, but found a person in Canada that laser-cuts short kits from any public domain downloadable plans, like those on Outerzone for instance. He's making me one for an original Palmer Hurricane in Jan. with contest-grade balsa for 93 bucks, delivered. Can't beat that, IMHO.
