I have a very nice Honda that we bought last year. 4-Stroke, has wheel drive, always started on the first pull. This year, nothing but trouble. I just came in from trying for 2 hours to get it started. Poured out the gas and put fresh in, drained the carb bowl, blew out the fill tube clean back to the gas tank, spark plug has spark. Just a little frustrating. I'm going to get new gas and a new spark plug. Many years ago we had a spark plug that sparked until it was under compression, but would not then.
I like the goat. Wish I could put one out there just to P.O. my property owner's association.

What kinda mower do I have? One that sucks! Its a Walmart one, I knew better, but despite my dislike of Wallyworld, I bought it anyway. And my fears about it being a wallyworld product came true. I only had it for a few months and now there is no ignition. And trying to find out what the damn engine model # is is nearly impossible
I should have bought a Honda. They are expensive as hell, but I have yet to have a Honda blow out anything, even with months of no maintenance.

Most people throw out stuff that don't run and 99% of the time it's just a festered carb.

3 riders MTD, Craftsman, John Deere (Craftsman 18.5 HP converted to homemade snowplow)
3 pushmowers MTD, Craftsman, and ???
4 weed eaters IDC, Weed Eater, Craftsman 4-stroke, and ???
3 snowblowers Craftsman, ???, and ???
1 chainsaw Craftsman

Just like automobiles, there are both gas and electrically powered riding lawn mowers. If you purchase an electric mower, you always need to make sure that the battery is fully charged before using. Electric mowers are also quieter and more environmentally friendly. On the negative side, since the mower runs on a battery, there is always the concern that the battery will drain before the job is complete. Price-wise, electric mowers can be quite expensive.

Cylinder mowers feature vertically rotating blades that can cut extremely close for that classic 'manicured lawn' look. While they're perfect for very even lawns, they're not so good for more irregular grass areas. Rotary mowers, on the other hand, have horizontally-orientated blades: the finish isn't quite so good, but the mowers are more tolerant of lawns with rough patches, slopes and - dare we say it - weeds and moss.

I had a chance to buy a used 42" Toro zero turn a couple years ago when the Craftsman broke down. Definately overkill.
We have less than 1/2 acre, but took cut time from 45min down to 15 min! Downside is they are not great on slopes

Dual Purpose
My Husqvarna lawn mower lasted ten years before transmission started to give out...couldn't even get up a small hill at the end. Two acres of grass to mow, and a good hundred yard driveway/lane to clear in the winter time...I needed something with dual capability. Welcome the Conquest. Best move that I have made in a long time. Not as young as I think I am, and tired of manhandling a self propelled 24" snow thrower.
I didn't think I'd get much use out of the snow blower, but after two big storms this winter, I'm glad I got the 42" single-stage attachment. I look forward to snow nowadays.

As I get the Toro ready for 2021, I am reminded to leave my phone in the garage.
