Tomahawk Viper Jet

Nice. Mine is the same but I have dark blue instead of silver.
Thanks for the info about the servo wire routing. Thomas has confirmed that it is ok to make a hole near the aileron servo mount but I'm undecided. The benefit of doing this is that it keeps the wires clean and tidy and away from the gear opening where it might get snagged. The down side is that you have to make a hole in the spar. Decisions decisions

Well I took a look at it and it doesn't seem like it'll be an issue with the gear and routing a lxfly suggested but putting the gear in the wing should clear that up. Only difference for me is that I'm going to have to route wiring from the gear rather than air lines. As for putting a hole in the spar? Well BaldEagle suggested as bunch of precautions saying it was the structural engineer in him that made him do it.... For me I'm a USA licensed full scale aircraft mechanic among other things and while I know it's a model, one DOES NOT put extra holes in the main spar.... lol
I'm more worried about trying to install the landing lights, it might not get 'em. Cutting holes in the leading edge of the wing does not excite me either. Just a wuss I guess....

I agree about the lights and I probably won't fit mine either - I may fit them later on after I've got some time on the finished model. I feel a bit robbed that I was sold a lighting 'kit' but all it is is 6 leds and a switch. Where are the mounts, instructions and cover?

Lights; just look at http://www.rcmarket.net/cmsj/index.p...d-viperjet-2-0. I had integrated the light from www.hab.se the same as in the Futura 1.9. They have a kit to integrate the lights in the Futura wing, I made myself some pieces from fiberglass. indeed you have to cut the wing.

Most of the 'building' is now done on mine and I just have to finish off the air/receiver installation. I have just tried a dry fit and it seems like my wing spar is about 4 inches too long. Did anyone else have to cut their spar to get it to fit? How long should it be?
I thought I'd just check before I make a mistake by cutting the end off!!

I'm just putting the finishing touches on the world's slowest build!
How have people attached the canopy?
I currently have the canopy set up with 2 pins at the front lower corners and the latch in the centre of the rear hoop. I'm a bit worried that this might not be secure enough and I'd hate for it to come off.
I could try to install some canopy hooks along the side rails but there's not much sliding involved when fitting the canopy (it almost drops down in place) so I'm not sure if this would work.

Standard servos in elevator mod
i plan to use standard Servo size, I ordered 8 SAVÖX SA-1256TG, 20kg.
as I’ll use a P100 need something stronger.
now the servo doesn’t fit, I plan to sand the servo 0.5mm on each side and the inside part of the elevator by the same 0.5mm, does anyone see any problems with this?
cheers,
dorin

Canopy pulling in under full power
I recall seeing a post we’re under full power the canopy is getting pulled in due to the suction inside the cockpit area does anyone recall seeing this post and if so can you point me to it. I’m curious how this issue was resolved and where additional openings were made on the model.
