Default Byron Mig 15 + Ramtec

I have an Byron MIG 15 I` m building. I would like to utilize my Ramtec power plant. Has anyone had success doing this? I`ve been sketching some new formers and mounting rails to support the fan. Any ideas on performing this modification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Default Conversion

There is a dynamx conversion out there for the Mig 15 . It comes with necessary glass work to cover the hole in the bottom of the plane and the necessary mods to make it work. I have mine with the Dynamax and os.77 . havent flown yet breaking in the engine . Here is a pic

Thanks G-man, sounds like just what I need. I checked Jet Hanger Hobbies to see if they had something. they don't. Where did you get your conversion kit from?
Thats a pretty MIG you built.....
Tnx.

Tom , the Mig was a internet deal if I remember correctly. It was cheaper for me to trade a Byron's Hellcat NIB for the complete Mig 15 kit w/ os 77 , fan , conversion and retracts. You can do the conversion yourself by making the inlet liner and glassing in the bottom of the jet. I believe the exhaust tube needs to be fabricated also.

OK G-man. I was hoping maybe I would not have to reinvent the wheel. Ya it needs intake, exhaust, and fan housing shrouds plus a sturdy mount system. Do you access the motor from the top or bottom???

You need an BVM F-86 intake (Ducted Fan model) and a Trim area ruled ducting (for the thrust tube) for the ramtec fan. I had one of those and I will see if I can find you some pictures.

Default Byron Mig15 Conversion

I produced a conversion kit for the Mig approx 8 years ago. I may have some sketches and templates for the internal formers. Did one for Turbulence with my last set of ductwork. I will see what I have, but can't promise anything. Pm me if you are interested.

Eagle Flyer

Never did find the plans and sketches. Gave them to a friend and never got them back. Will try to contact him and will be in touch if successful.
