I need advise on removing the crankshaft from an OS 70 Surpass. The engine has sat idle for a long time. I have everything removed from the crankcase but the crankshaft does not want to slip out of the bearings. Do I need a press? Thanks

If striped down completely,, Toss it in a oven,, say 350* for about 15-20 minutes, many times the crank will just fall out, if not just tap on it with a dead blow hammer,, a nice little tap on a 2x4 and the main bearing will fall out too

Put the nut back on the crank so it's flush with the tip, and you won't risk any damage to the threads.

​​​​​​That's also a chicken dinner or baking a cake at 350F. Even a thin crust pizza falls into that range as well. I'm sure 250F will do it, although stubborn engines sometimes see a propane torch, especially if you don't want that engine taste on your bagels the next morning, 350F is a lot less than a propane flame.

I tossed it in the oven and heated as directed. The crank came out with the rear bearing still attached. How do you remove this bearing from the crank?

Same way,,, heat should do it,
If tapping down on the work bench when hot doesn't work,, might need to get something to wedge it loose with, I'd always try a wood wedge first
