Is bearing lubrication required?
Hello all!
I am new to these small scale turbines and am planning to build a one for a university project. I have seen a lot of the manufacturer turbojets have direct hardlines to lubricate the front most bearing. I was wondering if this is required or if I can get away without directly lubricating the front most bearing?
i have seen various self built turbines on the web and some people directly lube their bearings and some don't. I'm looking to the jet gurus on this site for your opinions!
thanks all!

Lubrication is provided by the fuel. You mix the manufacturers recommended oil in the fuel at the manufacturers prescribed mix. Generally is a 2-5% mix. I use Jet Central motors and mix 2% Amsiol Dominator Synthetic 2c motorcycle oil in 5 gal of diesel. Turns out to be 12.8 oz of oil. into 5 gal fuel.
