Gs-200 electron control unit settings
Hello everyone, i'm from italy, i have buyed the complete electron ER40 sets, for my viperjet zeal 2,5mm , same of the carf viperjet, i have buyed the electron GS-200 unit with internal gyro , very beautifull product, can manage nose gear with gyro and the brak with gyro, can anyone if used this unit can suggest me the best parameters to set, because the manual is not clearly , in attachment the parameters that i need to say the best setting, also the brake gyro can work in proportional or heading hold, what suggest?

As to the brake settings, I suggest NOT to use the "steering mix" that's for warbirds only. The "gyro mix" will release the brakes at one side in case they lock up. I have used 25% gyro mix in my planes. But please test the direction of the gyro control! If you push the nose of the plane to the left for example, it has to activate the right brake to pull the plane straight. If the direction is reversed you have to use negative values in the controller (for example -25% instead of 25%).
I have also tinkered with the max brakes values and the "pulse ratio" (anti lock brakes). The higher the pulse ratio is, the less brake force you'll have and thus the higher the "brake max" value needs to be. I have my anti lock brakes activated at a pulse ratio of 1/3. I suggest to leave the max brake value at 100% in the controller and adjust them via mixes / dual rates in your radio. That way you can have a parking brake (100% brake travel) and a normal brake (60-70% brake travel).
If you have connected your nose wheel to the GS-200, you can also play with the "steering setup" and set a gyro gain here, too. But similar to what I said above about the brakes, you need to test if the the nose wheel deflects in the right direction, otherwise set negative gyro gain. A good starting point is 30-35% gyro gain.

perfect thoms, i understand about don't use gyro mix in brake adjust, but in steering setup i start at 30-35% in gyro gain, and always in the parameters gain ? what % need to start?

I said that there are 2 different mixes, one is called the "brake steering mix" and the other is the "brake gyro mix" and you should only use the latter. I think that 20-25% gain is a good starting point for the "brake gyro mix". Also important to know is that the newer GS-200 has a "proportional" setting and a "heading hold" setting for the brake gain. I am always using proportional mode.
For the steering / nosewheel gyro mix I suggest to start with 30-35% "Gyro gain". The 2nd parameter "Gain" is translated incorrectly, this is an expo setting and has nothing to do with the gyro. I usually use a lot of expo for my nosewheel steering (40-50%), otherwise the plane might over control.

under menu' called '' brake adjust'' there are , steering mix and gyro mix, check the picture, can you tell me how need to use and the %

i have see, but i don't find

Hi all,
HELP!!! I have an Electron GS200 controller that I am having a problem setting up the brakes.
The retracts work fine but when I go to setup the brakes no go, I have them set on the left slider om a Futaba 14SG radio. It seeks that no matter I do the brakes are partially engaged but not fully on or off. I was wondering if I might have to adjust the servo travel in the radio?
