Which livery are you going to paint this time?

I am building a zero. Robart electric retracts with 5in robart wheels. The wheel is interfering with the gear door linkage? The gear door had pre-drilled holes for the control horn. Has anyone else experienced this?

Just make new hole or try to bend linkage so it's not interfering. I didn't use TopRC solution of closing small flaps, made it servoless similiar as original plane had.

5" wheels are a tight fit. You'll have to make some adjustments to get them to clear the door linkage.

Sometimes you just have to step away and reevaluate the problem. I was able to dremel the tip off the the gear door linkage and tweak the control rod. All is well now and working as it should.

Hey Mike, where did you get the electric start unit for your Saito from?

Kind regards,

Craig.

Today I've tested engine first time after the crash and repair. It started in first attempt. I got also new pilot, it' only 1/6 scale but quality and appearance is amasing.

Question for anyone, will the top rc zero struts fit the robart retracts?

Thanks,

No, they are metric and bigger diameter. Could fix it with a proper lathe.
I have the opposite. Robart struts in TopRC retracts. the TopRC struts for the zero are simply garbage. Soft metal and way to heavy springs. Poor design on that bird. Bend now or bend later, they will all bend eventually on the Zero. All except the Robarts, the zero version are bulletproof.
Robart rules. Sad they stopped making retracts!!

Do Robart still make struts or have they shut down?

Just saw this today, a small company bought Robart and is starting to make them again.

Hope they make it a success in their new business. I love the old Robart retract products.
