Default Xmaxx, Max 6 ESC calibration Help Please

Hello,

UPDATE TO THE ISSUE POSTED BELOW: I put the multi-meter on the receiver today and found that channel 2 (throttle channel) was dead while all others were getting power.

I've been running the Xmaxx 8s relatively worry free for over a year now with the obvious maintenance. Just for kicks i decided to invest in a Max 6 ESC to see how it performs. The stock ESC was doing just fine, this was just to see if there is any more punch as some reviews lead me to believe. Anyway, I seem to be having a problem calibrating it and mind you, i am usually pretty good at this sort of thing. I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some insight as to what I may be missing.
Here is the problem:
Tx (stock Tx and Rx) is on, I hold the "set" button while powering it on.
Once the red LED starts flashing along with the beep of the motor I release.
All is fine, but when i push "set" for the neutral setting, the LED goes blank and I get nothing. The fans are still running and i have steering. I know steering is not part of the ESC function, but just figured I would add that.

My Tx is set to neutral and 50/50, I have even reset the Tx to default settings.

I can not seem to find any record of anyone else having this issue. All my wires are in good shape and I am confident the ESC is not damaged.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to point me in a direction,

Tim
