Magic 3D advice needed
I know this has been discussed in this forum before, but what engine should I use on a Magic 3D? I have a TSI .46 available (a REAL powerhouse!) or an O.S. 32sx. I know the Magic will fly with a .32sx, but I have also heard of many guys putting .46's on their Magics. What do you think? Anyone flying their Magic with a .32? How's it perform? I definately want to hover this puppy right down to the ground so the .46 makes sense for the extra power, but I also have heard that the Magic should be kept as light as possible so the .32 would fit the bill. What should I do?

go with a .46
Im flying mine with a MDS .48 and it has unlimited but slow vertical, I dunno that a .32 would ring it out all the way.. If you have the .46 available use it.

Weigh them both, tach them both, and see which one pulls more effectively. By effectively, I mean power to weight. If you keep the plane down at 4lbs or less with the 32, you should have unlimited vertical at under 1/2 throttle. I've got unlimited at 1/3 throttle with my stock heli piped TT36 at 4 lbs, and the OS32 I had on an airframe of the same weight gave it about the same power. I was running a macs black pipe on the 32. I ran an APC 11/3 or 11/4 on the 32, and am running an 11/4 or a 12.25/3.75 on the 36
On the other hand, the 46 should give you more "grunt" at lower rpms than the 32, which might suit you better for hovering purposes. You should be able to turn the APC 12.25/3.75 on the 46. All that tourque and thrust might throw the plane to one side under quick power transitions on uplines, to be wary of that.
Either way, keep it light and youll love it.
