G-38 Mount
Hi all,
Are there any radial mounts (or similar) available for the G38?
I am trying to fit it in a very tight cowl where length is an issue.
Also - the stock muffler has the exits through baffles at the rear, where I need a Pitts style muffler, but cannot afford any extra length. Is anyone aware of a third party inverted Pitts style muffler for this motor that doesn't add to the overall length of it?
Any help would be appreciated.

RE: G-38 Mount
Zenoah sells a cup mount for the G38, roughly $24 US. Bennett make a Pitts style muffler tha't thinner than the stock muffler. The
Bennett is a cast aluminum box with a pair of aluminum pipes pointing straight down, if you mount the engine inverted. You might look at the engines for sale section here on RCU. There are som Zenoah engines for sale that have this hardware on them, comp;ete with photos.
I have a G38 that I plan to use in a H9 Taylorcraft. I plan to make mounts out of hardwood dowls drilled through for mounting bolts into
blind nuts mounted on the back of the firewall.
Cheers,
CR

RE: G-38 Mount
Thanks for the tips.
I decided to change my mind on this one and go for a Moki 1.8.
The G38 would mean I'd have to chop up the cowl more than I care to and the weight might be an issue as well.
The Chipmunk cowl doesn't have a huge amount of room in it.
I have set the G38 aside along with a Bisson muffler I bought and am going to fit this into a 1/3 Spacewalker I am ordering.
I am told they make an excellent combo.
This is my second G38. Excellent engines!
