Default T-Maxx Servo ???

I seem to be having problems with my servos acting up, steering doesn't want to turn all the way and if it does it seems to be reacting slowly. Also my tranny servo sits and jerks sometimes. This is probably do to the fact that I got it wet the other day. My question is if I get new servos is there a company out there that makes better servos that fit right in for a decent price. They don't need to be for racing just better than stock.

Sorry if this is a dumb ? but I am pretty new at this and appreciate any info I can get.

Thanks

Default RE: T-Maxx Servo ???

You're right, they could just be wet. You could take the servos apart and dry them out with a hair dryer. If they're dry, they should work right again. To waterproof them, put a thin layer (with your finger) of silicon around the seams and screw heads, bathtub silicon is what i use because I already had some in the house. Take a small o-ring (the hardware store should have them) just big enough to fit around the output shaft of the servo, coat it in a light layer of grease, and put it on the output shaft. Put the servo horn back on, there should be a snug fit (not too snug or it will slow down your servo, if that happens, you'll need a thinner o-ring). The greased o-ring will keep water out. You should also silicon your reciever, or put it in a balloon.

Check your steering linkage, between your skid plate and chassis, for debris or loose or missing screws. Also if the pillow balls are too tight, your steering slows way down.

There are many faster/high torque servos out there, check with your LHS.

You may just need new batteries.
