ZDZ 60 Question ????
Can any of you guys with one of these give me a little info. Just bought a new 29% with an advertised weight of 16 - 18lbs & wondering if this engine will have enough to do 3D with authority. RC Showcase has a "chart" that says 17lbs or less for extreme acro but wondering if it would handel 1 more lb??

RE: ZDZ 60 Question ????
Can you fly 3D sequences now?
Here is a suggestion -- for 3D make theplane as light a possible - you simply can not make it too light .
Break in and run the engine on props which will allow your engine to easily run in the mid 6000 range. (for 3D )
Bottom line - 18+ lbs is tops for good 3D performance on any 60 size engine Maybe your idea of good performance varies from mine but the 17 lbs on the RCShowcase chart is spot on the money- for any engines in sizes listed.

RE: ZDZ 60 Question ????
Dick I can do alot of the 3D stuff. I'm not very good at the hovering & tork rolls yet mainly I havent had anything that would really "pull out". My idea of "performance" would be at least at full throttle to pull the plane vertical when praticing hovering & so forth closer to the ground. I've thought all along I might need the 80cc but as you stated I'm trying to save all the weight I can. thanks for the info

RE: ZDZ 60 Question ????
If the planes comes in at 18 lbs you will not have a problem, Had a ZDZ 60 on a 24 lb Edge and it would hover but not very well so put a 80 on it.
