Zenoah G-62 engine mount.
I have been searching various sites for a mount for my G62. After an hour of searching various r/c shops, I'm having no luck and I'm going cross eyed looking at this monitor. Can anyone suggest an online retailer? In case it matters, I'm putting it in a Giant Stinger. Also, I prefer a soft mount. Heck, at this point, I'd just like to fine ANY mount! Thanks.

I see you mounted the rudder servo underneath and are using rods in a pull/pull system. I think I will do the same. Are you using 1/4 scale servos? I was thinking of going with standard high torque servos with metal gears, but I am not sure yet. Your advice is appreciated. Also, I agree about screwing on the canopy. I do this to all of my planes because I put voltmeters in the cockpit area and my Stinger is getting a vid cam there too. Anyway, your Stinger looks real good. I can't wait to get mine up, but there is still so much to do. I'll post some pics when I'm done. Later!

I used 1/4 scale servos for the rudder and the ailerons. These are Futaba (tower) with lots of torque and metal gear.
The elevator servos are Hitec 605BB's. They work well, but if I did it again, I'ld us a 625 or 645.
The single rudder servo does well.
This is a fun plane to fly. Have mine for 3 years and it still is my 'ol reliable.

I don't know if you looked at Horizon Hobbies or not, but the G-62 mounts from them,(they distribute Zenoah products) are $6.95..........

Ahhh, they are selling the mount from the twin for the other engines with the same bolt pattern..Looks like they're changing some prices, it was about $15 when the twins first came out...Mayb my beating on Horizon about prices did some good

Good price..It's a little long but some planes need a longer mount anyway..
I'm working on a new website with actual RETAIL prices for the available engine parts from the chainsaws the engines are made from....some parts, like the cases and cranks, are not from the saws so there is only one place to get them, but others are readily available if one knows where to look....

Well, I was just looking at the plans and it appears that Lanier uses a cup mount with the G62. I think I'm going to order the cup from B&B since since the instruction say this setup will be very close to balancing out right. Personally, I don't see how. This darn engine seems so heavy I can't imagine it balancing out with some serious weight in the tail. The plans say if I use the G62, I should put the servos in the tail so I'm going to do that too. Of course what do I know... The biggest engine I bought before this was a Magnum 61XL. Anyone know how much the G62 weighs? I'm just curious. Also, I was wondering, is the spacer between the carb and the intake port necessary? In pics I've seen of other G62's on Stingers, it doesn't look like the carb sticks that far out (though it is hard to tell with the cowl in the way).

Mine balanced perfectly with a G-62 and cup mount from B&B. I also have the starter that adds about 8oz to the engine.
I have 2 Hitec 605 elevator servos and one 1/4 scale rudder servo on the bottom (the big ones) in the tail. 4 servos will balance fine.
My batt (full C size 3000mAh are in just behind the spar. CG was right on.
For the carb, there are 3 different spacers. The old stock one is very long. I bought a short one from B&B. The new style rotates the carb so the throttle moves front-to-back (instead of up and down on old style.) It is a bit shorter.
Mine has a narrow cowl (same size as fuse.) SO carb sticks out almost completely (needles are even with the cowl.) With the stock wide cowl, I think the front of the carb is about even with the cowl IIRC.
My G. Stinger was my first gas and Giant Scale. Great plane. G-62 is about 5.5 lbs until you add the starter and a pitts muffler. Then it is more like 6.25.
Once you get that G-62 fully broken in (takes like 5 gallons), it will pull like crazy. Takeoffs on mine: roll 20' then straight up.
