Default Inexpensive Airplane Stands

Does anyone know of an inexpensive airplane stand that can be used at the field or at home for repairs.

For a quickie you can cut "U" shapes in the ends of a styrofoam beer cooler.
A couple of bucks and lasts a long time if you're just a little careful with it.

I just use a cardboard box of a suitable size for a quick, easy, cheap and durable stand. Use a knife to make cutouts suitable for your plane and your good to go.

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but is made out of 3/4" pvc. If you don't glue it completly together, it takes down pretty easily. To use at home and at the field. I have 2. One for the house, and one for the paint booth.

The Ernst Ultra Stand is simple and very durable. It also has compartments for tools. Very handy. I am using this stand

I do the 3/4" PVC thing like BCJETJOCK. Under ten dollars, all the parts are at (insert favorite hardware store) stays together without glue. Can use self tapping screws if needed to hold sections together. Fully customizable and upgradeable.

Here is the way I store and transport my planes. Racks come apart at the field and I have a short stand for each plane. (3/4" PVC.)

I use stands like JimFinn is using. I have several in different sizes. The one in this pic is screwed to the old tv stand so it will roll around the shop. It is also set-up for some PVC legs that will plug in if needed. Just some PVC pipe, crosses, & tee's.

Robart makes a styrofoam stand - $15 - the 45 degree paddes supports are very solid and allow work on the fuselage at any angle...

Liked the idea so much, I "adapted" the idea and added it to my field box - God bless PVC!!

Cheers!

Jim
