I recently triced my hand at building. I built a Gym Swallow.

I got 4, 5 to 10 foot glides and a 100 foot radius arc at about 12 feet up. Then SMACK!

The plans called for a flight weight of 6.3 to 7 oz's. I ended up with 10 oz's.

I got everything built up as pretty as can be, with a few mods:

1) I had on hand a fiberglass arrow shaft. instead of the
carbon-fiber.
2) I don't have the correct size piano wire so I used the Landing
gear from my Pico-Stick(dead)
3) I am NOT confident enough in my building ability to construct
the wing. So I strapped on the surviving wing from the dead
Pico-Stick. I moved the rear wing mount forward for this wing.


My ISP-A w/ an EP-1047 prop wont keep the plane aloft.
I also have a 300C power unit, an EP-1260 and EP-9070X3 props.
I am using 7.2V Li-Ion paks
installed is a GWS 4P Rx
with two GWS Pico Std. servos
and the ESC is a ISC100. I want to get a Pixie-7P pretty soon here.

Here are the questions:

1) Where does the CG belong? i.e. % of cord from LE?
and
2) Because I have a budget of 40 or 60 a month I need to work
with materials that are free or damn near. What might be a
few things I can look at either while building or afterward to
reduce weight?
and
3) At 10 oz which prop should I use with the 300C?

I'm sorry this got so long.
