Kerosene Filters
I have been looking for a filter to use in the bottom of my kerosene jug and fits the tubing. I'm looking for something that is very fine mesh. Anyone have any ideas or maybe something they have been using? I tried a couple of automotive filters but they didn't work. Thanks.

RE: Kerosene Filters
Gary,
I'm using a very heavy sintered bronze clunk. Fits yellow Tygon tubing. Check your local hobby shop. Brass/copper is supposed to inhibit algae formation. None so far. Beyond a Kavan pump, I use a frequently changed folded paper filter encased in clear plastic, found for 2-3 $ at the local Ace hardware store in the gasoline engines fuel filters/parts section.
Cheers

RE: Kerosene Filters
Gary,
I have been using a JetCat fuel filter for a few years now with very good success. It is installed outside my fuel caddy after the fuel pump. If the motor starts to labor at all, you can take it apart and clean it within a few minutes. If you install it in the bottom of your 5 gallon fuel can it is more trouble to clean if neccessary. The JetCat filter is a very fine screen that will trap anything that could give you trouble even algae.
Regards,
Ken F.

I use the paper pleated filter as described on the JPO website. I have it inside my 5 gal fuel jug. I used a 1/4 to 3/16 vaccum fitting that I got at AutoZone.
