Pirate Extra 230
I have purchased a Pirate Extra 230 with an 87" wing span and I'm considering installing a Brison 4.2 engine. Would someone have a set of prints or remember where the manufacture suggested a balance point to be, other than a general first third of the wing ?

Pirate Extra 230
memoryway,
are you positive it is a Pirate kit?
sounds more like an Ace Extra 230 with that type of wing mounting. The only ship that I know of that pirate kitted without a wing tube was the 25% 260, and it was a one piece wing. Sorry I could not be of more help

Pirate Extra 230
No I'm not sure if infact it is a Pirate Extra. That was what the person that sold it to me said it was. He having gotten it from an other party may have mixed his signals. The option of rule of thumb (1/3 %)is looking better everyday. Untill I got this Extra I had never heard of Pirate!

Flyby1 The Extra that I have is an 87" wing. Is that Ace 230 a 87" wing? Where if any is the Web Site for Ace? I'm asking because I just saw an Ace Extra 230 but the wings were 74" The rest logos ect. looked as mine does.

I did a short google search for Ace 33% extra and came up with this ..
http://www.dbalsa.com/foam_wings/win...ing_list_e.htm
they list the Ace 33% extra at 87-1/2" WS
you might want to do a more intense search . hope this helps
regards

You are just all over the place! I had gone there but not seeing what I thought I wanted to see (Extra 230) I bailed out. I just emailed these folks and if they are as helpful as you and the rest have been I'm done.
