omp 47" yak powerplant
What are you guys using in your yak kits? I would like to stick to 2 strokes, Anyone tried the new os 46 ax in a profile? I have a good 46 fx with a macs pipe out of a wrecked extreme 330 would that do?

RE: omp 47" yak powerplant
I'm going to rig mine with a 50SX. I am starting to think it might be a little too much but I will not be able to give a good flight report soon as the 50s takes forever to run in properly and loosen up. I fly my GP Gee Bee on a stock 46 FX and this thing is a rocket. Although it only weighs 1,85 kilograms. Build the bird and check what the weight is at the end, from there you can pick an engine. I'm sure though that with the right prop the 46 will be more than perfect.

I think the .46 FX would be just fine. I have had great luck with my Webra .50 as well and it is about 2-3 oz lighter than the OS. I have the Yak kit sitting in my shop begging to be built and I will either use The YS I got with it, or the Webra. I was thinking of doing it ultra-light with mini digitals and the Webra .50 and it should be possible to get it into the 3lb 14oz range like that. If you keep it at around 4.5 lb, the OS should be fine though.
