Default Stuff

Everyone has stuff that they collect thinking somehow it will be needed in this hobby. I have several small plastic cuplike gizmos that look like miniature crutch tips. Good for putting over the carb opening to keep out dust. WallyWorld sells something in the stationery dept. that looks like white foam filled cardboard. I think Exacto makes it. Ought to be good for fixing something on a plane. Very lightweight. Aluminum flashing from the hardware store ought to be good for something. I look at plastic bottles differently now that I cut out a pretty good looking Cub windshield from a candy jar from Costco. I have a lifetime supply of a metal screen wire with a very small mesh that is used in air filters. Ought to work for hinges or reinforcement somewhere. Look in the craft section at WallyWorld. It is full of stuff, such as really cheap watercolor brushes for mixing epoxy, etc. Anybody else have stuff?

I use the extra wire I cut off after installing guitar strings and also old strings--it's great for all kinds of applications on my planes.

I went to a fabric store and picked up some 1/2" foam in a big roll. I got a piece about 3' wide and 6' long for the same price that I would have paid at my LHS for a piece 1/10th the size.

My step-brother hasd Chrones desease. So, I get a lot of sirynges from him!
I do some work with pnematic cylinders (automation) and I have rolls of tubing. One size that is perfect of retracts. $0.10 per foot, and twice the PSI than what you'd buy at teh LHS. Also, a stack of various connectors & such.. So I can terminate my various wires with proper connectors.
