Default Somebody stop this thing!!!!

I have a Sport Maxx. OK......so while running some laps against my brother and his buddy both with T-Maxxes I ran into a slight problem. My truck ran fine all day (about 4 hrs) until I notice that the response time between the radio and my truck just wasn't there. Fearing the worst I pulled it in and checked the batteries. I ended up replacing the batteries in both the radio and the receiver on the truck. I have full control within about 20 feet.........but after that....look out. Full throttle BABY!!!! WOA!!! I can't seem to figure what the deal is with this thing. Have any of you ever had this problem!!? Please help! I don't know if it was all the dust from the track (I seriously doubt it) or if the electric truck that my brother's buddy had somehow screwed up my frequency.

if every one elses was running ok and they were where you are then it can only be located to your receiver or transmitter. Sure the ariel hasn't pulled out or snaped in the receiver box. If all the wires are fine then try a different frequency, if it is still doing that i can't think what else it coule be. Oh ya if you are running a fail safe (and you should be) then check thats working corectly.

If it was very dusty, you could have gotten dust in the reciever. It happens quite a lot to people and will cause glitching.

Thanks, I'll dig into it tomorrow and see what happens. It's supposed to rain here the next couple of days. Guess I'll have to wait to this weekend to see what happens. My brother's buddy had the same thing happen to his T-Maxx a couple of weeks before i showed up. I better find out something quick. It sucks not being able to drive it!! While I'm in there I might as well install that fail safe that I'm going to pick up tomorrow!

the servos move their full amount based on them getting the full power required for it. if there isn't enough power going to the throttle servo, then the servo will not move as much and there won't be as much fuel into the engine and bla bla bla. i had a similar problem with my lawn mower just a week ago. the thing kept loosing power and acting terribly, so, i found the cable stretched out, and thus not moving the throttle fully, and so i tied the cable and now, i get practically twice the power.

Smaxxnt.. Check the Antana wire.. 100% for any place it might have been pintched, smashed, cut, or worn.... also check your transmitter antana.. and make sure its screwed in tight.. also check the reception with your vehicle's engine off.. and see how far you can go before you lose your reception.. is it the same? If it is.. then it sounds to me like you have some bad batteries.. ( Dont leave your AA's out in the heat to long.. it will ruin bran new battiers.. ) for instance.. i live in South Florida.. and bought a 16 pack of AA's put 8 in my remote and 8 in my portable tool box.. 4 weeks later.... and they were no good when i needed them.

I just though of another thing, you havn't cut the antenna wire down have you? cause the anntena wire is made the right length to pick up the frequency you use. Ever seen a 2.4GHz cordless phone has a realy small antenna, thats cause the frequency is realy high and no need to have a long airel, as for the 900MHz phones they need a long ariel to pick up bigger wave lengths (lower frequency). and RC cars run on realy low frequency so always keep the ariel the same length as when you get it.
