Ok Guys,

I haven't flown in about 12-13 years and I just finished building a new trainer and buying a 7CAP and GMS .61 to get back into the hobby. After I've remastered flying in circles and getting back on the ground in one piece I can't wait to try some 3D profiling. (so I can remaster inventive plowing techniques and the reassembly skills) So here's my question.

1) Whats a good beginner profiler that will fly good using a GMS .61 2 stroker?

2) Are the Tacos and Burritos manufactured as kits or ARF's and if so where can I buy one or are they scratch built from plans?

So, being the obviously extremely intelligent indivdual that I've shown myself to be, I read down a few threads in the Pro Bro forum and found the thread on how to order a Burrito.

Heh,.... guess I kinda left it hangin way out that time.

Well, "most" of a build anyway!!!

Seriously though, the important parts are spelled out very well. And there's not a better building kit going.......Skip the trainer though. The Burrito will be easy to fly on low rates and you'll learn bad habits on the trainer......like circle flyin', landing with forward motion, touch-and-goes on the gear instead of the rudder, using the wing as a lifting surface instead of the prop, etc......

Unfortunately I've already purchased and built the trainer so thats a done deal. Looks like I'll have to shell out for the Burrito kit and a .46 engine. Anyone using a GMS .40 size in their Burrito? Luckly I did buy a good radio though (7 CAP, yeah I know about the timer glitch) so I'll only have to get a flight pack.

So should I get a regular sized Futaba flight pack for it or go for one of the HiTec mini flight packs?

You wanna use standard servo's in the Burrito. For good value, Hitec makes a HS-425. They also have some higher torque servo's that are pretty reasonable too... my buddy Gator runs the HS-475HB's and has good luck with them... Go with a 6 volt 720 mAh NiMh pack to save some weight....

Yep, what Paul said.....but if you can splurge a little, make it on the engine. Don't sell yourself short on that. Get a good .46 or better yet a .50, or if you like the coolness factor get a Saito. But whatever you do don't get some cheap, forever tweaking, never pulling, always stopping POS engine. If you want to learn 3D, you HAVE to trust the engine above all else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the weight of the GMS? 61s are usually a little too heavy.

I'd stick with something under 18 oz.

GMS .61 = 26+ oz I sure wouldn't want it on there!! For comparison, the Saito .72 is just over 18oz and is Awsome power to weight. and the OS .46ax is 17oz, and Webra .50 is even lighter!!!!

I have Hitech hs-225 Mighty minis in my Burrito. No problem with them so far. Seem to have all the power to handle anything, including full power snaps. Light little buggers too.

I have seen a few guys try to use the HS-225 servos. They seem to strip out gears quiet frequently. If you have a little rough landing dont be suprised if you find yourself looking for a gear set[]

I suspect maybe I have just been lucky. I've been on the same set of hs-225s for two years now with nary a problem. I actually expected a lot of gear stripping, considering my experience with hs-81s, so I ordered several sets of gears to keep in reserve. Haven't opened them yet. Mind you I know of no other type of landing than a rough one. But this is trully a case of your milage may vary.

I have been using an hs81 on my throttle for about a month now. Since I first used it, it never really sounded good. It makes the same noise as my old standard servos when I tried to put them at 6v, noisy and twitchy througout the swing.
