Default Bashing a 300

I've got a 27% Ohio R/C Extra 300 kit that I will be starting soon. In the later versions of the 300, the wing has been lowered to both the mid and low position (for better pilot visibility). My question is: Is it just a question of pilot visibility, or are there other reasons (aerodynamic) why the wing was lowered? Is it worth researching it and bashing the kit, or should I stick to the original plans?

I WOULD'NT CONSIDER LOWERING THE WING TO BE KIT BASHING. MAKE THE EXTRA A TWIN ENGINE AND CALL IT A 600. NOW THATS KIT BASHING. NOT TO MENTION BEING THE ONLY MODELER AT THE FIELD WITH ONE. YOU WOULD BE THE KING!
