Ziroli Stuka - Building Tips
I am building a Ziroli Stuka and would like a few suggestions from those of you who have already "been there." My plane is in the fiberglassing stages now, so I am pretty much "on my way."
I made the decision early on to modify the wing construction and use Robart Struts instead of trying to bend the wire landing gear (might have been a mistake). Was that a mistake? My problem now is engineering a method of attaching the wheel pants so that they are durable and I have the strut travel I need. Anyone have any experience using this method?
I would appreciate hearing the methods (ideas) used to fabricate and mount the Elevator Struts. Primarily methods of fabricating the fairings at the attachment points and fairing two struts into one at the stabilizer mount. Are there any drawings out there on that? I'm definitely not a Master Modeler but I am eager to learn as much as I can.
The exhaust stacks and canopy (interior detail, guns, mast) also pose their own special challenges when trying to duplicate the original in a scale version.
Any suggestions would be helpful to me and greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Bob
