Hi

sounds to me like you have the bevel gear in the rear, around the wrong way.

you might have to take off the wish bones, undo the driveshaft's and flip the bulkhead over.

P.S i think the engine should turn anticlockwise

well, it maybe because you one way bearing is catching the engines connecting rod when you pull and let go of the start to put it back down. see if it does when you pull it spins the engine and when you wind the string back up does the engine turn over? if no thenjust keep tryin to start it. it happend o me. it took me about 15 times to start it corectly

A long long time ago, I was trying to start my first ever piece of junk gas car; didnt quitw know what I was doing at the time. The damn thing wouldnt start and I kept pooring gas into the carb directly. At once the engine fired, and dropped the car, and it ran backward for a few metes and then the engine stalled... I was puzzled, I didnt know much about gas car, but I knew the couldnt reverse... What happend? GOT THE STARTER MOTOR + and - poles SWITCHED THE WRONG WAY! there was enough gas in the engine and exhaust to make it run for a few seconds... weird but true LOL

I dont even know what car it was, I suspect it was a serpent pro, the firtst model they ever made, but im not sure, as there were parts missing, it had a very old .21 picco engine, one of these really weird looking exhausts, completely dried out foam tires, 15 layers of paint over a gtp hard white body shell *grin* I made my own radio tray for it and fitted in a heleicopter fuel tank (as it was the cheapest I could find back in those days). But I was used to a Marui Big Bear so this thing to me was monstrously fast! and it had a reverse
