steering servo help?
servo problems?
I have a hitec HS 945 MG servo
1400 ma servo pack charged to 6 volts.
JR racing XR3i radio.
With no weight on the wheels they turn end to end fine.
On the ground not rolling the wheels only turn about 5 degrees.
When rolling I only get about 15 degrees of turn on a parking lot.
I watched the servo saver holding the truck upside down and held
back the wheels and there is hardly any force left in the servo and
the servo saver is not weak or giving. I removed the servo and
inspected the gears and everything looks good. Everything inside
the servo and radio box was dry so water should not be a problem.
With the servo disconected there is no stiffness with the steering
linkage or wheels.
Is there a way to test this servo?
If it is bad can it be fixed?
What would be a better replacement?
Any pointers on this would be handy.
I just installed a new wasp .28 and need to break it in but can't
because of this problem.
