Default Dave Brown Re-Elected Now What?

I see that Dave Brown was re-elected. What does that mean for us "turbine jet" flyers?

I don't know, but I would really like to see some younger representation in the AMA.

Probably more meaningless restrictions. After all, Brown seems to think that his "intuition" is more important than hard facts.

Now would be a good time to join the JPO. This organization is important to a common representation of our views, a source of credible data for the AMA and a voice of reason when needed.

It seems to me that getting some one younger in there dose not matter what we need is someone who understands where we are coming from. My question is why with all the jets pilots that we have we still can't find and alternative for the wonderful AMA. We keep on having restrictions on our jets, but meanwhile you have prop airplanes that can do 150 and they have none. Wonder why? I forgot some people have nothing better to do than be a pain in the *****. In the mean time just fly and have fun!!

If he really wants to go after somebody, how about all these damn park fliers. In town here there have been 2 kids hit in playgrounds by these stupid things because you can buy them at walmart for crying out loud. Of course when they buy them there is no MAAC or AMA insurance mentioned or required, so these incidents end up in court and messy giving the whole hobby a bad name.
Jet guys are very concious of their surroundings, where they fly, who is around etc. These park fliers are a bloody accident waiting to happen. I'm all for technology in all aspects, but it's becoming unsafe when they start saying it's ok to fly in a playground.

Bad apples in every crowd Jeremy. It's not just the park flyer types.. I've seen plenty of jet pilots who have no business flying what they own.

That's true Doug,
my concern comes in that there are now RC electric planes in walmart for $30, how many kids will get these for christmas and cause damage? Yes, they're small, and light, but they'll still hurt a small child. Those spinning plastic props will still cut you good. And they are accessable to everyone. I can only imagine riding past some of the parks in town and catching one of those in the face while on the bike! The problem is, kids flock to a model airplane, when you're in a park with no control or rules, more things will happen
