Foam core for Katana question
Is there any plans to include the foam fuse in the Katana kits? If not I'd like to ask those who have built the Katana and the Edge how much eaisier the building was with the Edge's fuse and if it makes much difference in building time. Thanks

RE: Foam core for Katana question
Right now there is no plans to switch to the foam core on the Katana kit. As it stands the kit version builds pretty quick because of the laser cut parts and standard stick framing. To answer your other questions though the foam core layup also builds very quick and offers a solid fuselage which has proven to be extremly durable and easy to repair in case of the inevitable. Working with foam does however mean "NO CA" as CA will melt the foam. We use Gorilla glue and epoxy.

Thanks for the information. The video on the Ohio Model planes sight featuring the Katana kit is great and has sold me on the plane. I'll be ordering one soon to replace my Sig Somethin extra.

RE: Foam core for Katana question
I've built both and the Katana fuse builds MUCH faster than the Edge. All of the curved parts are laser cut with notches for the sticks. This means almost no angle cuts. The control surfaces are the same way - laser cut notches on the Le and TE of each surface, so all you have left are straight cuts. Although it's still not quite as fast as a foam fuse, it's easy enough that anyone could build it.
